My advisor was quite quirky, and he was also the department chairman. Students would come into his office to experience the following:

Timid Student: “Excuse me sir, I have a question....” GRK Yells: “SIX VOLTS!” – as if that was the answer to their question. Timid student: –trembles in fear–

I was frequently sitting in his office during these exchanges and somehow that became my nickname.
